The Enneagram is an ancient personality typing system that identifies nine basic personality types, and how these personality types are expressed individually and in relationship to others. The Enneagram is a powerful tool for understanding and explaining human behavior, and the underlying motivations to behavior. In this program, Suzanne Stabile introduces the Nine Types: Perfectionist, Giver, Performer, Romantic, Observer, Devil's Advocate, Epicure, Boss, and Mediator. Each personality type is reviewed in detail, including an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the Types, and the likely interpersonal challenges that may be involved in an unhealthy expression of the Type. The Enneagram offers an inherently holistic approach to personality and interpersonal relating and is useful both in the application of secular therapeutic method, and as it may be understood in the practice of spiritual direction.
The instructor: Suzanne Stabile is a sought after speaker and teacher, known for her unique and creative approach to the practice of Spiritual Formation. She is the co-founder and animator of Life in the Trinity Ministry, in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Stabile received her B.S. in Social Sciences at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she completed additional graduate work in the School of Sociology and Perkins School of Theology.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The Participant will be able to: Understand the history and content of the Enneagram Personality Typing System, and its application to the counseling and therapeutic environment; Identify the Participant's own number in the Enneagram, and how this insight about self may enhance the effectiveness oftheir work in therapeutic practice; and Integrate a foundational knowledge of the Enneagram Personality Typing System with certain frequently used diagnoses from the DSM-IVR.
Cost of the workshop for those wanting CEU hours is $110. Lunch is provided.
